CHRISTMAS BAND CONCERT
Following successful Christmas Band Concerts in 2015 and 2016, Councillor Clive Goddard proposed that the Concert should go ahead again in 2017. The idea was supported by Lydd Town Council and the Christmas Band Concert will be held on Saturday 2nd December 2017 at All Saints’ Church Lydd starting at 7.30pm.
The City of Canterbury Brass Band will be performing again this year. Historically, there was a Canterbury Silver Band which was disbanded in the War years. The present Brass Band was formed in 1969 and some of the original members still play with the band now.
Cllr. Goddard said “This is a wonderful time of year to bring the community together to enjoy listening to the band, joining in a sing-song and to indulge in a mince pie or two. This year we will be welcoming dignitaries from across Kent to join the people of Lydd in enjoying this wonderful event”.
Tickets are £4 each and will include light festive refreshments and are available to purchase from Lydd Town Council offices, Guild Hall, 13 High Street Lydd on Wednesday and Thursday between 9am and 12.30 pm and from Seagull Fishing Tackle in Greatstone.
There will also be tickets available on the door on the evening of the concert
