Firefighters were called to reports of a large outbuilding alight in Station Road, Lydd. Upon arrival, crews found a series of large sheds and outbuildings used as domestic workshops on fire. Donning breathing apparatus, crews tackled the blaze with a combination of high-pressure hoses and compressed air foam. Further reports indicated that gas cylinders were involved in the fire, so precautions including a 200-metre cordon were established by Kent Police., while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and make the scene safe. There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire has not been established.
