Despite a long term campaign and hefty fines, fly-tipping has seemed to resume on the side lanes of Romney Marsh, with some people blatantly disregarding the law as this picture by Jason Elliot shows, with a complete settee and chairs being dumped very publicly at Littlestone last week.
On local resident has complained to Kent County Council stating that it will continue to happen until larger household waste can be dumped at the recycling centre at Mountfield Road.
“If you have a large piece of furniture that you are trying to dump, you need to borrow a van, this is then classed as commercial waste so the site won’t take it” he told us.
