Littlestone lifeboat was launch Saturday evening at approximately 8pm to go to the aid of a man in a canoe off of Hythe. In fading light, the Crew assisted the casualty back to Fishermans beach and returned back to the station and prepared the boat not only for service but to ensure it was polished up ready for today annual 999 Emergency Services Day being held at the station.
Littlestone Lifeboat will be on display along with representatives of all the other emergency services and it is hoped some Arial activity too with some fly pasts from aircraft going too and from Eastbourne Airborne Air show and also a chance to see the new Air Sea Rescue helicopter that has just started operations from Lydd.
The police, Ambulance and Fire Service will be in attendance along with lots of stalls.
The fun starts from 10.am until 5 pm at the Parade Littlestone (next to the Varne Boat Club) Free car parking is available n the Greens at the bottom of the Avenue (Donations going towards the RNLI)
