Reform UK’s local members in Hythe were gifted an early Christmas miracle at their very first branch association Christmas Party held at Hythe Cricket Club. The evening was expected to be buoyant, with Professor Matt Goodwin scheduled to deliver an inspiring speech. However, the surprise arrival of party leader Nigel Farage himself turned the festive cheer into a standing ovation!

Over 70 attendees were visibly thrilled as Nigel appeared unexpectedly, met by cheers and applause. His presence was a closely-guarded secret, arranged by Looker Editor and Romney Marsh KCC candidate David Wimble, who revealed, “I couldn’t believe it when Nigel rang me to say he’d make it—what an incredible honour for us all!”

Nigel’s speech was as spirited as the Christmas party itself. Reflecting on his remarkable political journey, he rallied the crowd with Reform UK’s ambitious plans to make serious waves in the upcoming Kent County Council elections. The timing couldn’t have been better—his visit coincided with the party’s recent by-election victory in Dartford, which secured their first county council seat.

Local association chairman Bill Wright summed up the night perfectly: “Having Nigel at our first Christmas party is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a testament to how far our branch has come.”

Nigel didn’t just deliver words of inspiration; he stayed to mingle, sharing conversations and posing for photos, adding a personal touch to an already unforgettable evening.

This dazzling debut Christmas party for Reform UK’s Hythe branch will surely go down as one of those “Farage-y tales” members will be sharing for years to come!
