IMG_2203A course record and a field of 210 were seen at the running of the 6th Romney Marsh 10K in New Romney last Sunday organised by Nice Work on behalf of the Romney Marsh Rotary Club. After early morning showers the sun shone and with little wind conditions were almost perfect – perhaps a little hot. The almost dead flat course is excellent for achieving personal bests.
First man home in a course record time of 32min. 34sec was Marcin Urbanowski from Tonbridge AC who was followed home by two club mates Daniel Bradley (33min 02sec), and Daniel Watt (33min 52sec). These three easily won the team prize. First lady home (8th overall) was Maria Hislop from Paddock Wood AC in a time of 38min 17sec. Second lady was Caroline Wood (41min.06sec) from Arena 80AC and third was Geraldine Larham (41 min 52 sec) from March AC.
The separate wheelchair race was won by Gary Donals from Victoria Park AC followed home closely by Martin Conway.
